Alex Cardenas

Alex is a grandson of an immigrant. His first language is Spanish. He was born and raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Left the island at age 18 to go to college at Villanova University. He is a big fan of their college basketball team. After graduating from Villanova he addended law school at Creighton University School of law. While in law school, Alex worked for an immigration law firm in Omaha, Kasaby Schmoke. Alex's wife is from Des Moines, so they moved here after he finished Law school. He spent 2 years working at a non-profit organization formerly known as Justice for Our Neighbors where he eventually became a Managing attorney. During his time there he helped over 200 clients with their immigration cases. Alex then went on to work at an Ames, Iowa immigration law firm, Barten Law. During his 2 years at Barten Law, he assisted immigrants with their immigration, criminal and family law matters. Alex joined Mueller, Schmidt, Mulholland & Cooling in 2021. His areas of focus are family-based immigration, humanitarian immigration and removal defense cases.
