Nick Cooling

Nick was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business before earning his Juris Doctor from Drake Law School. He has been involved in private practice ever since. Prior to joining Iowa Lawyers, where he works exclusively with injured Iowans, Nick spent almost eight years at a law firm where he litigated cases for large insurance carriers and third-party administrators across the country. Nick has handled workers’ compensation, insurance defense, and commercial litigation claims, spending over five years as workers’ compensation counsel for the largest employer in the United States. Nick believes he has found his true calling as an advocate for individuals who have been injured or mistreated by an employer or insurance carrier. Given his background in defense work, he provides a unique and valuable perspective into his cases. Nick also prides himself on his unmatched availability and responsiveness to clients. Outside of the office, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and identical twin boys. He likes skiing, hiking, golfing, and coaching little league and soccer. Nick grew up a Hawkeye, so don’t be surprised if you run into him at an Iowa Football tailgate or at a Carver-Hawkeye Arena basketball game. Court Admissions:
